Post Care Instructions for LIPS
The healing process may vary per individual as well as the results. It’s important to follow these instructions to achieve the best results; however they cannot guarantee results as every persons skin can take and hold pigment differently.
LIPS | Will feel swollen and dry after your procedure. Apply ointment/Aquaphor several times a day with a clean Q-Tip for 2 weeks.
DO NOT let lips get dry as this may interfere with the healed color.
Redness, swelling, tenderness are all common post treatment side effects and will dissipate in short period of time.
AVOID | Salty, oily, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.
After lips are no longer tender to the touch they become flaky. This is normal and to be expected. P
DO NOT pick, peel or scratch the treated area, as this will significantly reduce the amount of pigment uptake.
AVOID | Sun, tanning beds, pools, Jacuzzis and direct water pressure. Be sure to use sunblock once the lips are healed. Ask POSH for recommendations on fabulous Image or PCA Lip creams with SPF! You can use lipstick once the lips are fully healed.
Lips are a muscle and can take 1-3 treatments to complete the process of this procedure. Color uptake is unpredictable and will vary on an individual basis. Clients with sun damage, scar tissue (from injury or fever blisters) and clients with implants may not have strong results. Lip touch-ups are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart from initial procedure to help with color retention.
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS OF INFECTION | Include redness, swelling and tenderness above and beyond what is normal. Signs and symptoms that indicate the need to seek immediate medical care include: red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature and purulent drainage.
